All About Me

I am Dr. Ramya Pechetty, a consultant cardiologist at Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills since 2017. I completed my MBBS at Osmania Medical College from 2001 to 2006, followed by my MD in General Medicine at the same institution from 2008 to 2011. I then pursued my DM in Cardiology at NIMS from 2012 to 2015 and earned the FSCAI designation in 2022. My academic accomplishments include being a gold medalist and the topper in ICSE during my 10th grade and receiving six gold medals in MBBS, along with being recognized as the Best Outgoing Student for the 2001 batch from NTR University of Health Sciences. I was also the topper in DM Cardiology at NIMS in 2015 and received the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Health and Medical Excellence Award in 2024.
In addition to my clinical practice, I have a strong interest in research, with projects focused on the correlation between carotid intima-media thickness and coronary artery disease, the etiology of hypokalemic periodic paralysis, and profiles of patients presenting with pericardial effusion. I have also authored a case report on a rare cause of thrombocytopenia and a review paper on additional heart sounds published in IJCWD 2020. Furthermore, I served as the chairperson for the "CVD in Women" session at the Eva Stride 2nd Annual Summit.
In terms of work experience, I have extensive expertise in coronary interventions, particularly in image-guided interventions and complex PCI, including the use of atherectomy devices. I am skilled in managing cardiac emergencies and have a strong focus on heart failure management as well as the management of hypertension and dyslipidemia. If you have any questions or need assistance with cardiac health, feel free to reach out to me at ramyapechetty@gmail.com or call me at 9000006895.
